I’m a maker of both art and music, brought to MA Illustration: Authorial Practice by my interest in graphic storytelling. I’ve had a long-time fascination with assemblage, collage and kinetic art, recently exploring kinetic sound art to find ways I might combine art and music practices. I work intuitively and have come to trust in ideas which come from out of the blue - when I follow these, I find there are always surprises and synchronicity.
My current project is a kind of present moment cinema, which combines pre-cinema technology, like the Praxinoscope or Zoetrope, with found materials, simple electronics and digital components. I love cinema and the escape it offers but want to facilitate an experience where the viewer can remain present, in this instance to contemplate a live projected mechanical happening.
